The Design House grand opening!

The Design House was officially opened on Wednesday 4th December by The Irish Times fashion editor Deirdre Mc Quinlan.Guests were welcomed into the beautiful georgian building that is 43 Dawson Street with a wonderful drinks reception, some nibbles and some amazing fashion.
Warm Christmas berry smells from scented candles filled the air and guests perused the displays to the sound of Elbow's 'Beautiful day' played by a four piece string orchestra. It was a great start to Christmas in the city. There were plenty of fashion lovers in attendance on the night including stylist Maria Fusco.

The fashion show presented the real talent of the designers. It was amazing to see how well the different styles came together on the catwalk. Urban blazers with bold geometric prints were teamed with classic tailored trousers and perspex jewelry, an elegant black evening dress was paired with a wool beanie hat and one of our own PrincessPalles purple velvet and pheasant feather hats featured with a vintage taupe lace skirt and jacket. In the bridalwear section of the show our luscious velvet bridal piece with bird cage net was teamed with a beautiful floor length champagne wedding gown. We were also delighted for our snow leopard print hat to be teamed with the an amazing grey wool coat by Sook Young. It would be the perfect winter racing outfit! All clothing on the catwalk was accessorised with jewelry available at The Design House.
Guests mingled and shopped some more once the fashion show was over. The building is so warm and welcoming, and gives such a different shopping experience. Walking around the different floors and rooms feels almost like being in a gallery. There is a really nice flow throughout and each piece is showcased beautifully. There are so many different items to purchase, it's a real treasure chest.

The Design House was the dream of fashion designer Bébhinn Flood. Bébhinn has an honours degree in fashion design and has worked with people such as John Rocha, Joanne Hynes and Caroline Smith. She was the coordinator for The Loft Market at Powerscourt Centre and has her own fashion label, B Fashion Design. Bébhinn and her team have done an incredible job at number 43. They are a real little family, so welcoming and friendly. In five short months they have turned the building into a home for real talent and design. There are definitely very exciting times ahead for The Design House and princesspalles are delighted and proud to be part of this venture.
The Design House introduces itself really well in
 their statement:
'The Design House is offering a bespoke shopping experience in the city centre. It is set in a beautifully restored georgian building.Showcasing and retailing a diverse range of over 28 Established and emerging designers, alongside some of the countrys foremost artists and craftspeople. Christmas Racing!

PrincessPalles love the Christmas racing festival at Leopardstown racecourse. It's one of our favourite Christmas traditions, up early, glad rags on, a nice hot drink in hand with the race form, blissfully basking in the fashion glory that is the Christmas races. The crisp winter air is welcome just so we can wrap up in beautiful woolies and furs! If you need some inspiration for a racing outfit PrincessPalles have put together a couple of picks to help you out!

We have gone for this AMAZING Peter O'Brien coat available from Arnotts with 30% off at the moment. It was €495 and is now €346.50. THis is one you will have in your wardrobe forever. This beautiful dark green colour is so rich and will match a multitude of colours. The nipped in waist and full skirt makes this coat look so elegant, perfect for ladies day.

We love purple, especially for christmas so we think this PrincessPalles hat in purple velvet with pheasant feathers is the perfect match for the coat. The browns in the feathers work well with the earthy tone of the coat. With just a little bling to set it off nicely. The hat is available to rent or buy from princesspalles.com

We also spotted these gorgeous suede gloves by Dent, available in House Of Fraser and they too are on sale at €35.00!

Are you winter ready yet? Don't forget PrincessPalles will design a hat to match your outfit, just give us a call!
We hope to see you all at Christmas for some fabulous fashion and racing!

When Poppy met daisy launch

Great leather piece for the fashion forward.
Fashion, live music, bubbly, cupcakes and Hats!!!

Last night’s launch of When Poppy Met Daisy – fashion design school was a resounding success.
The Grand Social on Liffey street, Dublin played host to Lorna Daly and her team who put on a wonderful reception for their guests with bubbly on arrival and some very tasty cupcakes, macaroons and chocolates! Live musicians and a DJ entertained the large crowd in what was a hugely positive look at the future of fashion design in Ireland.
Tied with a bow, perfect to finish a winter coat.

Lorna Daly has been in business for three years with When Poppy Met Daisy offering everything in needle and thread courses and is now eager to expand the company with new courses including photography, styling and fashion illustration coming soon.
Last night, MC's by Laura Mullett, showcased the work of current and previous sewing and design students and celebrated how far they have come since.
PrincessPalles were delighted to be part of the night as it supports local Irish business and talent.

PrincessPalles are graduates of the sewing machine course with when poppy met daisy and were asked to show off pieces from the Autumn/Winter ’13 collection.
The mix of rich velvets in deep winter tones with pheasant and real peacock feathers went down a storm with the on looking audience. The collection was helped along by the striking heads they adorned on the night. The collection is really polished and has a great mixture of texture and colour. There really is something for everyone in this collection with edgy rock chick leather pieces, girly bows in vibrant pinks or reds and classic elegance - plush velvets in deep earthy tones teamed with rich feathers and vintage buttons.

Here at PrincessPalles we are really proud of the collection and it was great to see it come to life on the models last night and we thank Lorna for the great coverage she gave Princesspalles.

We want to wish Lorna and her team lots of success on her future ventures!
